Un “click” nel silenzio

“Click”…

L’unico suono udibile nel silenzio di questo paradiso, in questa mattina d’inverno. L’alba di stamani è  veramente incredibile. Luce meravigliosa, nebbia e tanta, tanta tranquillità.

Ero già stato qua diverse volte, ma solo come visitatore. Osservare e vivere profondamente questo posto, con gli occhi da fotografo, è tutta un’altra storia. Riesci a cogliere ogni sfumatura, ogni colore, dettaglio, profumo che ti circonda. L’essenza della natura Toscana ti avvolge e ti inebria i sensi.

Il Teatro del Silenzio nasce nel 2006 come un teatro immerso nella natura per volere di Andrea Bocelli, che ogni anno vi organizza un solo spettacolo. Si chiama “del Silenzio” perché riposa tutto l’anno nel silenzio della campagna di Lajatico.

La location toglie il fiato. Volterra, la città madre etrusca, si vede in lontananza sullo sfondo. In primo piano, soprattutto in primavera, il verde delle colline pisane abbraccia un posto che a volte è un lago, a volte un palcoscenico, a volte un’incredibile scultura vivente.

L’anfiteatro è il frutto di un progetto ambizioso, e di un forte legame affettivo con questa terra, da parte del famoso cantante Andrea Bocelli. Costruito sfruttando i pendii della collina, il teatro all’aperto sorprende il visitatore, che si trova davanti la vasca circolare in genere piena d’acqua, come se fosse un piccolo lago tranquillo incastonato nel paesaggio collinare. Ma non sempre ha questo aspetto. A volte il lago si svuota e si anima per trasformarsi in un teatro. D’altra parte l’idea originaria era proprio questa: l’anfiteatro doveva ospitare un solo spettacolo l’anno, poi doveva appunto tornare in ‘silenzio’, per lasciare spazio al vero protagonista: il paesaggio. E così l’acqua sommerge di nuovo la scena, il canto, la musica e la memoria effimera dell’evento.

The only audible sound in the silence of this paradise, on this winter morning. The sunrise this morning is truly incredible. Wonderful light, fog and lots and lots of tranquility.

I had been here several times before, but only as a visitor. Observing and deeply experiencing this place, with the eyes of a photographer, is a whole other story. You can grasp every nuance, every color, detail, perfume that surrounds you. The essence of Tuscan nature envelops you and intoxicates your senses.

The Teatro del Silenzio was born in 2006 as a theater surrounded by nature at the behest of Andrea Bocelli, who organizes only one show every year. It is called “del Silenzio” because it rests all year round in the silence of the Lajatico countryside.

The location takes your breath away. Volterra, the Etruscan mother city, is seen in the distance in the background. In the foreground, especially in spring, the green of the Pisan hills embraces a place that is sometimes a lake, sometimes a stage, sometimes an incredible living sculpture.

The amphitheater is the result of an ambitious project, and a strong emotional bond with this land, by the famous singer Andrea Bocelli. Built by exploiting the slopes of the hill, the open-air theater surprises the visitor, who finds himself in front of the circular pool usually full of water, as if it were a small quiet lake set in the hilly landscape. But it doesn’t always look like this. Sometimes the lake empties and comes alive to turn into a theater. On the other hand, the original idea was precisely this: the amphitheater was to host only one show a year, then it had to return in ‘silence’, to make room for the true protagonist: the landscape. And so the water again submerges the scene, the song, the music and the ephemeral memory of the event.
