Non credo ci sia bisogno di spiegazioni per descrivere questo posto. Conosciuto come icona della Toscana, la Val d’Orcia è un posto paradisiaco che occorre viverlo in prima persona per capire di cosa si sta parlando. Per un fotografo paesaggista, il cuore pulsante di questo posto si snoda tra San Quirico d’Orcia, Pienza, Montalcino e Bagnovignoni. I piccoli borghi appena citati permettono di visitare la tipica Toscana, degustare meravigliosi prodotti eno-gastronomici locali e trascorrere weekend e vacanze di puro relax tra quiete e spensieratezza. Ma vivere la Val d’Orcia non implica di fermarsi soltanto a questo. Il bello è, soprattutto, scoprire il paesaggio e vivere ciò che circonda questo piccoli paesi.
Ogni stagione che passa fa mutare il paesaggio toscano. I colori cambiano completamente. Il meteo rivela scenari sempre differenti. Mille sfaccettature caratterizzano questa terra rendendola incredibilmente bella ed incontaminata.
Il periodo dell’anno che tuttavia preferisco per tornare a fotografare qui è sicuramente la primavera. Campi vastissimi che si vestono di infinite sfumature. Il verde del grano e il giallo della colza avvolgono i casolari in pietra che svettano solitari sulle colline. La luce radente che accarezza le colline durante le prime ore dell’alba e le ultime al tramonto, modifica il paesaggio istante dopo istante.
Scattare in questi momenti è un’emozione veramente incredibile. E spero di potervi trasmettere almeno un briciolo di queste emozioni con queste fotografie.
I don’t think there is a need for explanations to describe this place. Known as an icon of Tuscany, Val d’Orcia is a heavenly place that you need to experience firsthand to understand what you are talking about. For a landscape photographer, the beating heart of this place unfolds between San Quirico d’Orcia, Pienza, Montalcino and Bagnovignoni. The small villages just mentioned allow you to visit the typical Tuscany, taste wonderful local eno-gastronomic products and spend weekends and holidays of pure relaxation between quiet and lightheartedness. But living the Val d’Orcia does not imply stopping only at this. The beauty is, above all, to discover the landscape and experience what surrounds this small village.
Each passing season changes the Tuscan landscape. The colors change completely. The weather always reveals different scenarios. A thousand facets characterize this land making it incredibly beautiful and unspoiled.
However, my favorite time of year to go back to photography here is definitely spring. Vast fields that are dressed in infinite shades. The green of the wheat and the yellow of the rapeseed envelop the stone cottages that stand alone on the hills. The grazing light that caresses the hills during the first hours of dawn and the last at sunset, changes the landscape moment by moment.
Shooting in these moments is a truly incredible emotion. And I hope to be able to convey at least an ounce of these emotions to you with these photographs.
