Era veramente tanto tempo che non venivo in questo posto. La terrazza di Torre del Lago Puccini è stata la prima location che ho frequentato all’inizio delle mie uscite fotografiche. Devo veramente tanto a questo luogo. Nello spazio relativamente piccolo di una terrazza, ci sono innumerevoli spot che regalano, con la luce giusta, forti emozioni.
Rappresenta un porto sicuro, dove approdo spesso e volentieri quando le altre location cominciamo a stufarmi. La magia dell’alba in terrazza non ha eguali. E’ uno dei pochi posti, nella provincia di Lucca, dove è possibile scattare controluce sull’acqua. Inoltre gli spot interessanti sono almeno sei o sette, quindi, si portano a casa innumerevoli fotografie nell’arco di una semplice mattinata.
Stavolta sono uscito con Matteo, un amico che si sta avvicinando nuovamente alla mondo della fotografia. E come dargli torto? Iniziare le prime uscite proprio da qui, beh lo trovo veramente motivante. Qualche scatto interessante é praticamente impossibile non portarlo a casa, e la location è una buona palestra per iniziare.
Stamani il meteo è, finalmente, più che apprezzabile. Partendo da casa le nuvole sono sparse qua e là. Potrebbe verificarsi una situazione davvero interessante. Arrivati sul posto, esploriamo la zona, che è stata riqualificata ed inaugurata recentemente. Hanno rifatto tutte le banchine della terrazza, le aiuole sono curate e agli approdi per le imbarcazioni, purtroppo, sono ormeggiati i traghetti. Quindi, gli spunti classici che hanno fatto la storia di questo posto in ambito fotografico, oggi non accessibili. Ci direzioniamo comunque verso la costruzione ottagonale sull’acqua del lago, il “Ritrovo degli Artisti”, come adoro chiamarlo io. In effetti, stare seduto su questa terrazza, a mirare il sole che nasce davanti a me, offe uno spettacolo inimmaginabile ed è di forte ispirazione.
Man mano che il sole sorge, una coltre di nubi comincia ad avanzare. Pian piano il cielo si rende veramente interessante, e prima che il sole venga nascosto, tutto si illumina di magia. La luce diviene per qualche minuto, stratosferica. Scattiamo in diverse prospettive ai vari spot del posto. Come ad ogni uscita, tutto è meraviglioso. Buona luce e location da favola. Cosa chiedere di più?
Le nuvole hanno ormai coperto il sole. La luce si ovatta e decidiamo di rincasare. Rientriamo alla base con del buon materiale su cui lavorare. Ed ecco a voi il risultato… di questa magica luce.
It’s been a really long time since I’ve been to this place. The terrace of Torre del Lago Puccini was the first location I frequented at the beginning of my photographic outings. I really owe a lot to this place. In the relatively small space of a terrace, there are countless spots that, with the right light, provide strong emotions.
It represents a safe haven, where I often land when I start to get bored of other locations. The magic of sunrise on the terrace is unparalleled. It is one of the few places in the province of Lucca where it is possible to shoot against the light on the water. Furthermore, there are at least six or seven interesting spots, therefore, you take home countless photographs in the space of a simple morning.
This time I went out with Matteo, a friend who is approaching the world of photography again. And how can you blame him? Starting the first releases right from here, well I find it really motivating. It’s practically impossible not to take some interesting shots home, and the location is a good place to start.
This morning the weather is finally more than appreciable. Starting from home the clouds are scattered here and there. A really interesting situation could arise. Once we arrive on site, we explore the area, which has been recently redeveloped and inaugurated. They have redone all the docks on the terrace, the flowerbeds are looked after and, unfortunately, ferries are moored at the boat landings. Therefore, the classic ideas that have made the history of this place in the photographic field, not accessible today. However, we head towards the octagonal building on the water of the lake, the “Artists’ Meeting”, as I love to call it. In fact, sitting on this terrace, watching the sun rise in front of me, offers an unimaginable spectacle and is very inspiring.
As the sun rises, a blanket of clouds begins to advance. Little by little the sky becomes really interesting, and before the sun is hidden, everything lights up with magic. The light becomes stratospheric for a few minutes. We shoot in different perspectives at various local spots. As with every release, everything is wonderful. Good light and fairytale location. What more could you ask for?
The clouds have now covered the sun. The light fades and we decide to go home. We return to base with some good material to work with. And here is the result… of this magical light.
